The 1890 Universities Foundation advances the collective power and national impact of the 19 historically Black land-grant universities by mobilizing partnerships, investments, and strategic initiatives that expand research, innovation, student success, and community transformation.

The 1890 Universities Foundation will be the premier national catalyst and strategic partner advancing the growth, visibility, sustainability, and collective influence of the 19 historically Black land-grant universities. Through innovation, advocacy, partnerships, and investment, the Foundation will drive opportunities that position the 1890 institutions as global leaders in education, research, workforce development, and community impact.

History & Impact
A Legacy of Support and Achievement
Since our founding in December 2016, the 1890 Universities Foundation has been dedicated to uniting and strengthening the impact of the 1890 land-grant universities. As a 501(c)3 charitable organization, we focus on securing and distributing resources and developing strategic alliances that broaden access and amplify results of these universities. Our initiatives have catalyzed improvements in education, community engagement, and research, fostering long-term growth on the partner communities.
